Programming |
PROGRAMMING The Radio Indicator is reprogrammable. That means modified firmware can be uploaded to the computer chip. These Modifications can be things such as longer RED LED times, remove flashing of green LED, improvements to intelligence identification etc. Reprogramming can be done onsite. If you have a request to change the way that the Radio Indicator functions please send your request of change to: Email: programming@radioindicator.com New Firmware version will need to be written. This will then be available for download from www.radioindicator.com Instructions - Uploading New Firmware Items Required to upload firmware: * Radio Indicator Serial Programming Cable - Available from listed Dealers |
* USB to Serial Adaptor (if your computer does not have a Serial Comm. Port) * Tiny Build program (Free Download at www.radioindicator.com ) * PC Computer running operating system Win2000 or greater (Win XP recommended) * Firmware (Free Download at www.radioindicator.com ) |
Step 1 - Setup Tiny Build Program 1. Download and Open and Run Tiny Build Program |
2. Change the Comm Rate to 19200, select your com port 3. Click browse, select the firmware file you downloaded (this will end in .Hex) 4. Power off the Radio Indicator 5. Unscrew four screw on the bottom of the Radio Indicator and remove plastic encloser lid 6. Connect the programming cable to your computer and Radio Indicator and connect the power cable to the radio indicator. |
7. Click Check PIC. Note a bar will begin to count down. Note: Power to the Radio Indicator must be turn On. If 'Found PIC' was displayed proceed to next step. If not repeat this step. |
8. Click WRITE PIC, Firmware will now load into computer chip. |
9. Upload is now complete. Power off the Radio Indicator. Refit plastic lid and screws. 10. Radio Indicator Is now ready for use. |
